These are our directors, staff, program leaders, volunteer teachers, and committee members, who dedicate their time, hearts, and lives to showing Christ to children in our community. It takes many more hands than even these to make a ministry work and we are so grateful for everyone who partners with us.

Director Team

Kate Morrell

Director of Children's Ministries

Kate Morrell is the Director of Children's Ministries at Canyon Creek. Her background in non-profit management and experiences as a teacher, brought her and her family into ministry in 2021. Kate is passionate about empowering children and families to ask big questions and seek answers together. She believes that by doing so, they can benefit their communities and make a positive impact in the world. Kate is dedicated to creating a joyful play-based learning environment to minister to children of all abilities. Her favorite saying is, "Y'all means All."

Wendy Galarneau

Director of Children's Outreach

Wendy Galarneau is a mom, volunteer, and member at Canyon Creek in Children's Ministry . She is third-year Sunday School Teacher, who brings inclusive and innovative ideas and a passion for education to meeting every child where they are and helping them connect to their faith. Wendy is currently working on her Master's degree in Education at UNT and is committed to continuing to grow Canyon Creek's Children's Ministry organically.

Lee Ta

Childcare Staff Lead & Preschool Lead

Ms. Lee, is a passionate and experienced early education teacher and Child Care Staff Lead at Canyon Creek. Ms. Lee is dedicated to providing children a nurturing and stimulating environment to foster growth and development. She believes a fun approach to early Christian education creates lasting effects on the hearts of kids.

Hilda Escolero

Infants

At Canyon Creek, we are dedicated to providing the best possible start in life for your child. For almost 20 years, Ms. Hilda has been a part of our childcare program, providing a safe and caring environment for children to learn and grow. Her experience provides an invaluable foundation for our program, and her dedication to the children in her care is unmatched.

Hanna Nguyen

Toddlers

We're excited to welcome Ms. Hanna to the team as our newest toddler teacher. With years of experience working with young children, Ms. Hanna brings both warmth and enthusiasm to the classroom.

Abby Luna

Preschool

Ms. Abby is a teacher at our incredible early education center, North Star Learning Center. She brings joy, experience, and a heart to serve kids and families into our ministry.

Inclusion

We are seeking a teacher to help facilitate an inclusive approach to Sunday mornings. This person will help coordinate volunteers to assist students with special needs as they go through the morning alongside their peers. Children's Events Coordinator

Join us for amazing adventures and meaningful events that educate and delight your child and the whole family! We offer PNO quarterly, Family Events throughout the year, camps, retreats, and parties too. Stefanie plus other amazing parents and volunteers ensure that your kids and the whole community have these opportunities for fellowship.

Kids Who Serve Leader

Children's Garden Leader
